Marc is 15 years old; he is a victim of a rare life threatening disease that has cut short his physical growth but not his mind or zest for life. Marc weighs 70lbs while his twin brother weighs 160lbs. Marc has been ill all of his life. According to the doctors he should not have lived past four years old. Marc is now battling a tuberculosis infection. Also, Marc lost both kidneys and is now on dialysis at home with 30 medications per day. A transplant is scheduled for June 2008 if his tuberculosis disease is gone. Marc loves the social life and sports. However, he is not able to do sports because of the tube in his belly for dialysis. Very determined little boy and loves school, however, misses a lot of school because of illness and dialysis at home for 12 hour per day, 7 days a week, which doesn’t leave him much time for socializing with friends.
