When I was eighteen I was in the Marine Corp. I used to run three miles a day. I would like to build up to that again. I imagine that if Shad can run 26 miles, there is a new hope I have that I can run three miles again, in spite of my kidney disease. I would also like to lift weights again. I want to live as long as I can. Looking at what Shad did I am now convinced that I can do it too. I would appreciate any scholarship you can award me for a fitness program. Thank You!

Hi
my name is Javier R and my goal is to compete in
triathlons. I spoke to shad at an event he had at
a clinic here in Phoenix AZ. I will begin my trainning
this week. I'Mm not in good shape but there is an
ancient Chinese saying, " A thousand mile journey
begins with the first step"
I was born in the state of Arizona, I am of hispanic
descent. I was born into a family of seven I being
the youngest of the sons, and two sisters that were
born after myself. My father passed away when I
was ten years old and so the responsibility of raising
the family fell to my mother who had a very limited
use of the english language. my mother has always
been a person of great determination and strength.
A godly woman who despite the challenges she faced
in life managed to guide and direct her family with
love and a strong hand. Her influence on my life
has been an everlasting guide.
I married a wonderful woman. Her name is Maria.
We have been married for 21 years and it will be
22 years on July 22nd, 2007. She has been my help
and strength throughout our challenges and if I
had my life to live over again I would not want
to live my life with anyone else. We have
two sons, Isaac and Salvador. Isaac is 19 years
old and Salvador is 18. top

Athletic
Interests: I am interested in the bike that I can
have at home. I have tried a bike while on dialyis
and it did not work out for me.
Goals: I would like to be able to exercise so I
can stay strong and have the ability to continue
walking. My right leg was amputated in 1997 and
it is difficult for me to find exercise that I am
able to do. Shad explained a bike that I could have
at home and that was easy to use. top of page |
